Learn from your mistakes…Personal Trainer Hamburg Fit4TheGame

“Your mouth becomes dry, your stomach tightens, your hands become clammy, and you find it difficult to breathe. Why? Because you just realized you made a serious mistake.”
We've all really screwed up at some point...

And even if we would like to hide under our desk at a moment like this, we know that that is not the solution either.

The process of “letting go” is extremely important for anyone who wants to get fitter.

Training under stress or while your mind is elsewhere increases the risk of injury immensely.

We help our members “let go” by ensuring they feel welcome and at home during every training session.

If YOU Next time you screw up something, follow these 5 steps to let go of the anger and emerge stronger:

  1. Stand by it

The worst thing you can do when you've made a mistake is try to sweep it under the rug and hope no one notices. Adult, responsible people own up to their mistakes.

Accept that you made a mistake and don't resort to meaningless excuses or, even worse, blaming others.

  1. Apologize

We don't live in a vacuum. Therefore, there is a high chance that your mistake had an impact on others. Be it a colleague, boss, customer, friend or someone in your family.

Owning up to your mistakes is one thing. The other is to apologize to those who suffer from the mistake.

  1. Accept the consequences

After apologizing to everyone affected, the next step is to decide how to make up for the mistake.

This might mean putting in a few night shifts or overtime, but apologizing without facing the consequences is pointless and quite condescending to others.

  1. Learn from your mistakes

Now that you've done damage control, it's time to focus on learning from your mistakes.

Maybe you were inattentive or overworked when you made the mistake? Have you not discussed this with your team?

Find the exact cause of the error and then develop a strategy to avoid similar errors in the future.

You can overlook a mistake the first time, but what if it happens again? Is it pure laziness and ignorance….

  1. Check it out...

The final step to come to terms with your mistakes? Check it out and move on…

Yes, it's sometimes easier said than done, but there's no point in getting too caught up in something. This kind of thing just reduces productivity in other areas and annoys everyone else around you.

Who likes the feeling when you discover that you've made a mistake and it pulls the rug out from under your feet...

You'll get a lot more respect if you own up to your mistakes, apologize, and then move on with renewed energy instead of wallowing in your mistakes.
