12 reasons to drink green smoothies (part 1) – lose weight successfully

Losing weight successfully or just the wellness factor? At first glance, fruit smoothies are delicious and refreshing. Apparently they are healthy because of the fruit.

But are they really?

Before we give you the first six of a total of 12 reasons today why smoothies belong on every breakfast table and why they can be helpful in successfully losing weight. Here's a little background knowledge:

A Mango Machine smoothie from Naked Juice (UK) contains 11.9g of sugar per 100ml. So a 500ml smoothie contains 59.5g of sugar!
According to a guideline from the World Health Organization, the daily consumption of sugar should be 50 g. In return, the American Heart Association recommends that women consume no more than 25.2 g (6 teaspoons) and men no more than 37.8 g (9 teaspoons) of sugar per day.

For a green smoothie, green vegetables such as: E.g. spinach, kale, chard, celery, parsley or broccoli with fruits such as: E.g. oranges, kiwis, apples, mangoes, pears or bananas and water or ice mixed.

1. They're just good - Green smoothies are a low-fat drink and provide nutrients, vitamins, minerals, healthy carbohydrates and fiber.

2. They help you lose weight – Green smoothies are low in calories and fill you up. The need for junk food, sweets, sugar and high-fat foods decreases. The portion sizes for the main meals are also automatically smaller due to satiety.

3. They make eating fruits and vegetables easier – For many, getting the daily recommended amount of fruits and vegetables is a challenge. Green smoothies solve this problem in one fell swoop.

4. They taste delicious - vegetables are not to your taste? Green smoothies avoid this problem because, when mixed appropriately, the taste of the fruit overpowers the taste of the vegetables.

5. They are easy to make – All it takes is a blender and a water bottle. With a little routine, it takes less than five minutes to mix a smoothie.

6. They are easy to digest – For anyone suffering from indigestion, green smoothies are the solution as they are very easy to digest.
